Good Faith Estimate

Under federal law, patients who are uninsured, paying out of pocket, or choosing not to use their insurance are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the anticipated costs of their healthcare services, including mental health treatment.

A Good Faith Estimate provides an estimate of the expected charges for non-emergency services before care is provided. You may request this estimate before scheduling an appointment or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is substantially higher than the estimate you were given (generally $400 or more above the estimate), you may have the right to dispute the charges.

Be sure to keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records. For questions or more information, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
